Role Description

I have recently joined as one of trustees who work with Uprising. I am very excited to be part of this incredible team of people.

Favourite part of the job
I love hearing all about the fantastic work Uprising does in our local community; how each member of the team works so hard to help those around them.

Interesting Fact
I love to travel. I speak 4 languages and love to cook food from different places I have visited.

Andy Richardson

Position: Uprising Manager

Role Description

Overall oversight of Uprising, working with the Trustees to ensure Uprising runs smoothly and efficiently on a day to day basis. I also project lead our Community Action Team project.

Favourite part of the job
Working alongside people who are passionate and dedicated to seeing lives transformed in Ashford, and having the opportunity to come alongside young people to encourage and change aspirations. I also enjoy power tools and CAT gives me the platform to use them!

Interesting Fact
From the age of 2-15 all I ate was marmite on toast for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as a result I have to have marmite on a daily basis otherwise I get withdrawal symptons!

Abi Wylie

Position: Youth Work Co-Ordinator

Role Description

I work on the Aspire+ alternative curriculum project, supporting young people gain foundation qualifications and training to help give them the best chance in their future.

I am in charge of the day to day running of the Hang 10, detached street sessions and the running of House Youth centre.

Favourite part of the job
Going out on detached work and working with Young people on the streets of Ashford.

Interesting Fact
I lived in Northern Ireland for 10 Years.

Robert Bragg

Position: Youth Work Co-Ordinator

Role Description

I used to be part of a gang and God turned my life around. Now I share my story with young people across Kent through assemblies, workshops and mentoring about the realities of gang life and knife crime, through our Metanoia Project: Mind, Heart, Action.

I also support Uprisings other projects and enjoy supporting and encouraging young people in their personal, social and educational development, to help them reach their full potential in life.

Favourite part of the job
Building positive relationships with young people and encouraging them to make good choices, hopefully learning from my mistakes.

Interesting Fact
I have been to the top of the Hollywood Mountain, California, USA and had a Bible study.

Chrissy Arnold

Position: Aspire+ Programme Lead

Role Description

I manage the Aspire+ Programme within Uprising. Offering alternative curriculum and delivering functional skills to young people, supporting and guiding them to reaching their goals and aspirations. I also support the 'Hang 10' detached youth work project and a homework club.

Favourite part of the job
I am passionate about working with young people and helping them progress and achieve objectives. As an added benefit they often teach me something new!

Interesting Fact
I lived and worked in Greece for nearly 10 years.

Janice Rowland

Position: Administrator (part time)

Role Description

General correspondence; book-keeping and accounts; liaising with accountants and pension provider; payroll etc and all things finance!

Favourite part of the job
Making sure the staff get paid!

Interesting Fact
I'm a northerner and I love ballet but they're not necessarily connected!

Role Description

I have recently joined the team as one of the trustees for Uprising. I am very excited to be part of the incredible Uprising team and to help grow and develop the work that it does.

Favourite part of the job
My favourite part of the job is seeing the positive impact that Uprising makes to an individual and within the community itself. It’s so amazing to be able to see someone grow in their hopes and aspirations.

Interesting Fact
I once played football against Wayne Rooney! I definitely lost, but I still played him!
